Credit bureaus are
companies that collect credit and financial information about individuals
and corporations and assign a credit rating based on that information. They
in turn, sell that information to legally authorized companies who
request that information.
There are three main credit bureaus in the United States that
handle credit reports and ratings for individuals: Experian, TransUnion, and
Equifax. Contrary
to popular belief, these companies are FOR profit and have NO GOVERNMENT
AFFILIATION, and therefore, have NO legal power over you, the individual
consumer. They simply store your credit information in computers
and calculate your credit rating based on that stored information. And
due to the meticulous nature of storing all that data, these companies
often make mistakes and errors. Thats where we come in - we'll
help you contact these companies and have them remove any incorrect
data.
